A Senior Tax Accountant job in Woodinville, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE).

This position plays a critical role on the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates tax team. The role will be instrumental in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns. The Sr. Accountant, Tax will also be responsible for calculating and recording tax provisions, ensuring payment of taxes, recording all tax related entries, monitoring general ledger accounts, and reconciling tax balances. This position will also assist with all tax related notices and audits.

Senior Tax Accountant job responsibilities include:
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of state and federal income tax returns for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and all of its associated entities.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of indirect tax filings.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of property tax filings.
  • Prepare tax trial balances and book-tax differences in support of state and federal tax returns.
  • Prepare tax provisions and all monthly tax related journal entries.
  • Prepare indirect accruals and all monthly tax related journal entries.
  • Prepare property tax accruals and monthly tax related journal entries.
  • Prepare reconciliations for all tax related general ledger accounts, research discrepancies and execute corrections.
  • Provide variance analysis for all tax related assets and liabilities.
  • Assist in analyzing, responding to and negotiating issues related to all federal and state notices and audits.
  • Perform project-orientated tax research and analysis.

Position Requirements:
  • Accounting degree required
  • CPA credentials required
  • 3+ years of tax accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial concepts with emphasis on taxes.
  • Highly effective in both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exhibits a strong attention to detail.

Your Compensation:

$80,554 - 104,656/yr. based upon relevant experience.
