Overview

The Director, Commercial Data Integration will develop a strategy and plan for ABG's "Data Deployment" initiative, with the objective of driving a step-change in commercial performance through a more effective gathering and use of commercially-relevant data. The role requires an intimate knowledge of and experience with the role that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play in an effective "Data Deployment" strategy and plan. The role is responsible for bringing three internal stakeholder groups in developing and overseeing the execution of the plan: the Commercial Team, responsible for identifying and executing against the areas of business opportunity; the Digital & eCommerce team, responsible for the outwardly facing (customer and internal) interface; and the IT team, responsible for the storing and structuring of data. This role will oversee the Data Governance manager, who will continue to play an integral role in building the foundation of the Data Deployment initiative.

Responsibilities
    • Data & Systems Assessment and Integration:
    • Conduct a thorough audit of existing internal and external commercial data, sources and systems.
    • Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify and prioritize gaps in available data.
    • Develop comprehensive list of and budget for commercial data, sources and systems required for effective integration into the ABG IT ecosystem. Consider hard costs (data, systems) and management costs (overhead, storage).20%
    • Strategy and Plan Development:
    • Identify and prioritize the areas of commercial performance that will benefit from an effective Data Deployment strategy.
    • Quantify the anticipated commercial opportunity for each of the areas, and set relevant cross-functional KPIs that reflect the opportunity.
    • Develop an overall roadmap outlining the areas of commercial performance to be addressed, as well as specific plans to activate each of the opportunity areas.
    • Identify and secure appropriate resources commensurate with the commercial opportunity that is inline with the expected return on investment.
    • Analytics:
    • Develop automated algorithms (AI-based) that integrate with ABG's systems and that seek and quantify specific commercial opportunities.
    • Develop manual interface that allows commercial team to explore different areas of commercial opportunity beyond the automated algorithms will find.
    • Work with 3rd Party partners to complement ABG analytics with external party analytics to ensure comprehensive approach to opportunity identification.
    • Reporting:
    • Develop and manage suite of reports and dashboards that track progress against overall "Data Deployment" KPIs, as well as KPIs for each area of commercial opportunity.
    • Develop and manage suite of reports and dashboards that bring to life specific commercial opportunities and that can serve as easy-to-use tools for relevant stakeholders to tackle those opportunities.
    • Support VP, Business Intelligence in development of overall suite of reports that are used by the commercial team to manage the overall business.
    • Project Oversight / Management:
    • Lead and direct core cross-functional team to execute roadmap and plans. Hold regular project team meetings with clear agenda and actions to ensure traction.
    • Hold regular meetings with Chief Commercial Officer, SVP IT and VP Digital & eCommerce to report on, update and refine the roadmap and plan.
    • Report on progress to the Executive Leadership Team and ABG Board as required.

Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree with a focus on Data Science, another related quant-heavy field (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science), or equivalent experience
    • 5 years of experience in commercially-facing Data & Analytics role
    • Preferred experiences in priority order include: (a) Business-to-Business / Wholesaler / Distributor; (b) Consumer Packaged Goods; (c) Beverage Alcohol space
    • A unique balance of strong leadership and analytical capabilities
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, decision-oriented, entrepreneurial environment
    • Ability to translate data into easily-digestible conclusions and actions.
    • Ability to engage with, direct and influence the activities of a high-performing, cross-functional team.
