Overview

The ETP Portfolio & Delivery Management leader operates the "business of IT" and is responsible for the IT master plan for SGWS (e.g. overall IT portfolio management, portfolio/project risk management, metrics, and change management). This role works to operationalize and execute the overall IT Portfolio and works with other senior IT leaders. He/she works with key functional areas to administer IT workflows and business processes and provides metrics and messaging for IT. This leader takes care of day-to-day execution of delivery management and IT PMO issues. In addition, this leader manages the IT governance process, decision-making, project risk management in conjunction with Finance and the business leaders, ensuring that the IT team constantly and consistently understands the priorities and sequence of IT initiatives needed by SGWS divisions and corporate functions. This leader also works with Finance and the busine leader's organization to help ensure the successful delivery for all IT projects and programs and provides the project management standards and metrics that ensure that high quality and successful on-time, on-budget project execution is the top priority. Furthermore, this leader sets the strategy for ETP change management efforts for continuous improvement within the organization, and directs the Technology Knowledge team. This role also owns and operates the IT Advisory Board to set the proper priorities for SGWS and resolve cross functional company priorities. This role is also responsible for creating a work environment that supports the FAMILY values of SGWS.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes IT governance and portfolio management practices and sets the standards for IT Ways of Working including educating IT leaders, project and program managers, and scrum masters on procedures needed to effectively deliver against business commitments
  • Facilitate the AOP planning process for IT, including collecting business demands, determining annual projects/initiatives, and completing all necessary operating and capital planning
  • Establishes processes for project intake through on time and on budget execution
  • Develops, implements and maintains existing and new IT project methodologies such as SAFE Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • Drive execution of ongoing organizational change management activities to support continuing transformational ETP initiatives
  • Manage the Chief Fun Office ensuring that we create a work environment that supports the FAMILY Values of SGWS
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of change management plans and materials for all programs in the IT portfolio
  • Provide leadership and management to the leaders within the Governance & Planning areas
  • Responsible for projects and timelines from an enterprise level; assess and mitigate risks regarding concurrent or consecutive projects
  • Develop policies, operating procedures and standards for the PMO to ensure work product excellence delivered timely and within budget
  • Provide subject matter expertise, best practices and continuous improvement recommendations to internal business processes
  • Work with the IT senior leadership team to optimize the mix of IT resources. Finance will take lead in strategic sourcing strategies working in conjunction with this role
  • Interface with team and department leads to understand business goals and requirements, translating them into systems solutions
  • Facilitate meetings with end users (internal and external) to identify business requirements
  • Work with Finance in managing overall demand management for IT resources associated with projects and programs (including coordinating resource planning across IT for these initiatives)
  • Work to improve the delivery rate of IT projects and ensure adherence to standards
  • Provide strategic input on defining and developing the consistent project management practices, processes, and metrics
  • Provide strategic input to IT and business leadership on all aspects of projects / programs being managed in IT
  • Lead the coordination, sequencing and prioritization of work within master plans
  • Ensure effective development and integration of IT business processes and workflows
  • Work with IT and division executives on key decision-making activities during the planning process and during project / program execution
  • Develop clear "business language" presentations for SGWS executives, IT peers, and division leaders as necessary
  • Create, maintain, socialize and enforce the overall project management lifecycle, standards and metrics for projects managed by SGWS IT
  • Work with appropriate groups to approve, prioritize, and control the overall IT Master Plan for SGWS IT
  • Formally coach and mentor members of his/her team to become more effective leaders
  • Mentor, coach, develop, and encourage excellence from teams as necessary
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree plus 10+ years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in full cycle implementation
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with IT and business working processes
  • Project and program management experience required

Specialized Skills and Technologies

  • Demonstrated functional experience in technical project management with multiple projects
  • Business process engineering, mapping and improvement skills
  • Ability to communicate future vision and lead teams through organizational changes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Comprehensive understanding of technology and how it impacts business
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Executive meeting facilitation and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suites and/or software applications related to job functions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to establish connections between technology investments and business revenue improvement or cost reduction/productivity enhancement, including within the SGWS organization
  • Experience implementing IT governance and measures using industry standard processes (e.g. SDLC, ITIL)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to establish strong partnerships and deliver exceptional value
  • Experience developing and implementing IT operating models leveraging agile and waterfall approaches
  • PMP certification, preferred
