Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits currently seeks a Brand Manager, Bib & Tucker, reporting to the Vice President, Marketing - Spirits. This position offers a high degree of flexibility for those living/commuting within the NYC area. The position will require, on average, 2 days per week in the Stamford HQ office.

Brand Summary

Bib & Tucker is a small batch bourbon distilled in the hills of Tennessee inspired by a time when our country expanded from coast to coast, at a rate never seen before, or since! Territories were claimed, railroads, cities, and skyscrapers swept the nation with incredible energy, pace, and enthusiasm. From the Rockefellers to Vanderbilt's to the Everyman and Everywoman, no one with a dream was left out. You could feel the energy in the air and taste it in the whiskey. Bib & Tucker small batch bourbon captures this time when everything and everyone seemed to come together.

Our flagship luxury variant, the Bib & Tucker Classix Six, has an aroma of vanilla and sweet hay. The taste has a smooth entry, and the bourbon is nicely balanced with a hint of pecan pie sweetness and a warm, rich, spicy sensation. The finish coats the palate with a complex, yet balanced and long-lasting chestnut finish.

Our recently launched Bib & Tucker Double Char is inspired by the turn of the century, when food was cooked on the open flame. Double Char is aged twice to create savory smoky notes and an exceptionally smooth finish. Bib & Tucker Double Char is first aged for six years in white American oak, followed by a minimum of five months in a second heavily charred and smoked new barrel.

Our variants have been recognized for their incredible liquids. The 6-year-old most recently was awarded 2020 Ultimate Spirits Challenge - 96 Points (Finalist, Tried & True, Top 100 Spirits) and 2020 San Diego Wine & Spirits Challenge - 90 Points Gold Medal.

Description:

Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is expanding its premium spirits portfolio and is designated a Bib & Tucker priority brand tasked to take share in the luxury American whiskey category. The Bib & Tucker Brand Manager plays a critical role within the respective Brand Marketing Team and will report directly to the Vice President, Spirits Marketing. This position will function as the brand champion with P&L responsibility. The BM will be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all strategic and tactical consumer-marketing activities to enhance the growth, profitability, and market share of their brand(s). BMs are expected to be able to operate with significant autonomy yet still have influence with functions and entities that work closely with the brand teams. This position is responsible for planning and implementing strategic and tactical activities to grow the profitability of the respective brands.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for development and execution of strategic and annual marketing plans which address all aspects of the marketing mix including P&L's, pricing, packaging, advertising, public relations, digital marketing, market research, and new product development.
  • Shares responsibility for the delivery of volume, share and profit objectives consistent with overall brand strategy.
  • Manage micro-distillery experience development to highlight whiskey credentials and build an army of advocates - consumers, off trade, bartenders, and media.
  • Build premium consumer equity for the brand through the design and execution of consumer strategies including advertising, promotion, public relations, digital marketing, and special events.
  • Manage all outside agency initiatives in support of the brand's business objectives to include advertising, digital and public relations agencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely forecasting, develop monthly updates, and provide analysis and recommendations when sales vary from forecast.
  • Interface on a consistent basis with Commercial Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations to rapidly identify problems/opportunities and take appropriate action as warranted.
  • Interface with senior management and executive team.
  • Represent their respective brand(s) at consumer events.

Critical Skills:
  • Partner closely with the Commercial Marketing team to ensure clear communication to the field ensuring that all materials are "on-strategy" and consistent with brand standards.
  • Liaise with other departments to guide a unified approach to brand building.
  • Ability to take initiative, develop and seek out creative and innovative ideas.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; must have the confidence and ability to effectively interface at all levels within the organization and outside the company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Marketing, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in consumer goods marketing at top-tier marketer or agency; wine, spirits or food / beverage marketing experience a strong plus.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted business environment.
  • Experience with public relations and digital marketing is desirable.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills.
