Summary

Combines design skills with production knowledge to produce creative assets primarily through adaptation of existing files, templates, or programs.Creates and/or customizes design files to deliver high-quality output across project types and channels including packaging, point-of-sale, digital, etc. Works with a sense of urgency to support quick-turn requests with attention to detail, quality control, and compliance with visual brand identity guidelines. Core accountabilities of this position: • Design Execution: Execution of design files and adaptation of existing assets per project requirements. • Creative Quality: Creative production files developed and released with accuracy, in accordance with brand visual identity guidelines. • Project Accountability: Compliance with departmental processes, practices, project timelines, and budgets.

Essential Functions

  • Design Execution
  • Translates and extends product brand equities across elements and channels; applies look and feel, brand identity, and style guidelines to different sizes, formats, and environments.
  • Supports quick-turn adaptation of high-quality layouts, templates, and design files.
  • Reviews text, graphics, or other materials created by writers and designers; combines elements in a way that is visually appealing, legible, and easy to navigate/read.
  • Applies iterative design elements and makes alterations to existing design files by updating POS, packaging, digital/social with refreshed content including updated text, images, color, fonts, sizing, etc.
  • Updates existing design files and finalizes partially completed files to ensure accuracy and technical readiness for final production.
  • Edits/updates layouts and graphics including typography, file sizing, formatting, coloring, retouching, photo alterations, illustration alterations, etc. across various forms of print and digital media.
  • Imports text and graphics, integrating images and text to create and update design files.
  • Modifies existing design files by adjusting text properties, sizing, column widths, dimensions, and spacing.
  • Incorporates content into brand-compliant templates, versioning and further refiningmaterials as needed.
  • Supports graphic designers to source and place images that complement text and fit available spacing.
  • Submits and uploads final design files for printing or online publishing.
  • Supports the overall efforts of the Brand Stewardship creative team, ensuring projects are successfully completed.
  • Contributes to a positive and progressive workplace culture, delivering compelling, effective output in support of business and brand goals.
  • Creative Quality
  • Designs and refines creative elements, clarifying project needs when information is unclear or incomplete.
  • Maintains constant focus on speed and accuracy of execution and adherence to timelines/deadlines to keep pace with the demands of the business.
  • Ensures final layouts and production files are prepared in a clean and organized manner and accompanied by clear instructions.
  • Applies brand identity and style guidelines across all design elements to ensure consistency of output.
  • Supports the governance and upkeep of brand style guides and assets; ensures the most up-to-date brand assets are used in compliance with established standards.
  • Contributes to upkeep of dynamic content libraries to support digital tests and campaigns; manages the organization and archiving of all design files and presentations.
  • Identifies and builds templates to increase team efficiency.
  • Maintains, organizes, and provides access to design templates, base files, and specs; proactively updates templates to meet business needs.
  • Adheres to quality-control standards; proofreads work to ensure it is error free and compliant with industry requirements before it is released.
  • Project Accountability
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and complies with design best practices, ensuring work adheres to brand principles and Gallo Creative's high-quality standards.
  • Organizes, manages, prioritizes, and is accountable for tasks from initiation and creative execution through production and delivery/go live across a high-volume of fast-paced projects.
  • Proactively communicates with team members, surfaces issues as they arise, and participates in solutions that enable projects to stay on track.
  • Demonstrates compliance with workflow processes and accountability for interim project milestones, ensuring files are prepared for production in a clear and organized manner.
  • Manages personal workload including accurate time tracking and prompt completion of project documentation to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of creative/production design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of creative/production design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working as part of a multi-functional marketing communications team, skillfully executing deadline-driven design output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure with little supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 productivity apps including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and Keynote.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of creative/production design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • External agency experience developing design solutions on behalf of assorted clients.
  • Knowledge of printing and digital production technologies and methodologies.
  • Experience with package design and production.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based project management systems/platforms, e.g. Workfront, Basecamp, etc.

Compensation
  • Hiring Salary Range: $67,000- $100,400/Year
  • Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
