Position Summary

The Head of Procurement is responsible for ensuring that our business teams have access to the Direct and Indirect procurement resources available, and that these resources are deployed optimally (effectively and efficiently) to drive across Pernod Ricard's brand portfolio in North America. Execute the Global Procurement strategies for the various spend categories (Media, Advertising & Content Excellence, Point of Sales, Partnerships/Activation, Professional services, Packaging, Raw material, Capex & Logistics) underpinned by a robust roadmap to deliver against our business ambitions. The development of key internal and external customer relationships is an integral function of this position.

Key Responsibilities

Lead procurement operationsfor the North America Management Entity (USA, Canada) and as part of the Procurement Leadership Team:
  • Responsible for a total spend of 600m+ USD across all categories aforementioned
  • Ensure value maximization for Indirect procurement (A&P and Professional services) along 3 lenses: Buy Better (leverage Pernod Ricard's scale & professional procurement practices), Spend Better (harmonize policies, processes and manage demand tightly), Track Better (spend performance, compliance, sustainability and diversity)
  • Ensure value maximization for Manufacturing Procurement (Packaging, Raw materials, Liquid, Logistics & Capex) along 4 lenses: Margin improvement , Security of supply, Sustainable sourcing & Innovation
  • Drive procurement TCO impact, consistently with global strategies
  • Prioritize initiatives to maximize benefits & monitor category budgets to drive cost optimization
  • Translate our overarching Diversity and S&R commitments into the categories agenda and suppliers

Work closely with Group Procurement team and North America procurement and business teamson above spend categories, with the following responsibilities:
  • For Globalised spend categories (e.g., Media, Global sponsorship, Consulting, Dry goods):
    • orchestrate the execution of the category strategies defined by HQ Procurement
    • identify local business procurement needs
    • Identify local initiatives to complement global strategies
  • For Co-ordinated spend categories (e.g., Point of sales):
    • co-develop category strategies in close link with Group Procurement
    • identify local business procurement needs
  • For Localised spend categories (e.g., Local sponsorship, Experience):
    • define local category sourcing strategies (business needs and supplier panel definition), commercial execution (negotiation, contractual and legals terms, regulatory compliance) and supplier long-term performance management

Drive efficiency and effectivenessof our Direct and Indirect spend to increase ROI and manage our supplier roster including performance reviews:
  • Manage the team of local North America Category Managers for each spend category
  • Partner with the North America business team (mostly Marketing and Manufacturing) , such as assets usage optimization 'Working vs. Non-Working' spend

Manage North America procurement category manager(s) and analyst(s); develop a team of highly talented individuals, with exciting career paths and strong performance culture.

Set functional targets, suite of KPI's and evaluates performance - to track locally at North America level the successful implementation of the different direct and indirect category strategies.

Actively participateto the PR Procurement transformation (ie: SmartSpend ), drive transformation workstreams and business alignment.

Required Skills & Abilities

Professional
  • Highly experienced Procurement professional (+10 years), with experience in Advertising and Promotion, Professional services and Direct spend categories ideally in consumer / FMCG industry
  • Successful, multi-year track record delivering change for complex organizations
  • "Speaks" Marketing, understands brand development & creative processes
  • "Speaks" Manufacturing, understand production processes and needs
  • Business Acumen
  • Previous experience leading a team

Technical/Functional
  • Category management and TCO principles
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • World class supplier relationship skills

Education
  • Required : 4 Years College - Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred : Master's Degree in a relevant area

The salary range for this role, based in New York is $203,000 to $279,100, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate's experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
