
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE) is currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to join our Eastern Washington team. The ideal candidate will have one (1) year of experience in grounds keeping or relevant building maintenance experience. As a Groundskeeper at SMWE, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive grounds keeping and building maintenance duties on all Eastern Washington facilities. This includes tasks such as lawn care, trimming, and edging. You will also be involved in applying fertilizers and insecticides and maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds. The position may require alternative schedules throughout the year. The Groundskeeper's job responsibilities include:
- Cuts lawn using a push-and-power or riding mower; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc.
- Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.
- Sprays lawns, trees, and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides.
- Removes snow and ice from building walkways and steps; may rake leaves, clean and sweep litter.
- May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
- May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when grounds keeping work has been completed.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Driver's License.
- 21 years of age (alcohol)
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- One (1) year of experience in grounds keeping or building maintenance.
- Knowledge of grounds keeping equipment and landscaping preferred.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
