Summary:
M.S. Walker is looking for a new Maintenance Technician for our production facility who has general knowledge of facility support systems and will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, operating, and changing over our industrial machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and change over industrial equipment not limited to packers, labelers, wrappers, beverage fillers, palletizers, coders, conveyors, and other industrial manufacturing and distribution equipment.
- Maintain and rebuild motors, gear boxes, process line valves, air cylinders, & pumps.
- Troubleshoot electrical challenges that include photo eyes, VFD's, PLC's, limit switches.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and facility support systems.
- Responsible for keeping all tools, equipment, and work area organized.
- Perform daily/monthly checks of the facility for safety and maintenance compliance.
- Detail oriented and ability to communicate both verbal and written in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with third party vendor support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on automated manufacturing or distribution equipment.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical challenges not limited to VFD fault codes, photo eyes, machinery fault codes, mechanical breakdowns, and machine adjustments.
- Experience maintaining conveyor systems
- Valid MA driver's license, ability to become forklift certified, and experience using fork trucks and scissor lifts (Massachusetts 1D Hoisting License is a plus).
- Experience with maintenance and operational records through a Central Management Maintenance System (CMMS)
- Ability to perform PM's and equipment repairs.
- Proficient knowledge of industrial automation equipment and PLC's
- Proficient knowledge of facility support systems such as compressors, boilers, cooling towers, water treatment skids, and generators.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications and Google docs.
- Proficient Knowledge of BMS systems
- Mechanical and strong electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints, as well as follow standard operating procedures (SOP's).
- Ability to work OT based on business needs.
- Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
- Proper use and understanding of PPE, LOTO, and risk management.
- Strong work ethic and positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal direct supervision in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Candidate must be 21 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to:
- Work outside or inside.
- Frequently climb stairs and occasionally work on platforms > 40'.
- Work on catwalks or roof tops.
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time up to 10 hours.
- Kneel, work on back, or stomach, to perform machine repairs.
- Work in hot or cold environments.
- Work in inclement weather when required.
