The salary range for this role, based in California , is $106,720.00 to $133,400.00 . The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Purpose of the Role
The Commercial Operations Manager plays an important role in supporting divisional commercial goals through planning, performance tracking, and cross-functional coordination. Working closely with Commercial leadership and internal enablement teams, this individual helps translate strategic priorities into actionable plans while supporting the execution of key commercial processes and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Execution & Process Coordination:
Support Commercial Operation Director with reporting, data collection and consolidated feedback to coordinate divisional meetings and communication touchpoints including business reviews, commercial scorecards, and town halls. Partner with Division Commercial leaders (DVP, AVPs, State Mgrs/Dirs) to help operationalize commercial strategy by developing and communicating clear planning guidance and regular detailed performance reporting. Assist in preparing strategic presentations and divisional updates for senior leadership using cross-functional inputs. Prepare reports (in Power Bi and PowerPoint) and summaries for division management and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Performance Management & Analytics:
Track and report key sales KPIs and collaborate with Commercial Finance and Performance Management to monitor execution and results across the division. Assist with the preparation and analysis of commercial performance reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Support the implementation and follow-up of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) across the division through detailed reporting. Heavily involved in data-driven goal setting, outlet targeting, and overseeing our performance management systems. Identify business opportunities, including distribution gaps, customer, and brand opportunities within the Division.
- Forecasting & Planning Support:
Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams on divisional forecasting (volume/value) to ensure alignment with commercial and financial objectives. Provide oversight and consistency to the Sales Commit forecast and the overall RF cycle. Assist with monthly reporting, data collection, consolidation, and commentary for the monthly sales forecast. Assist and support the sales leads with reporting to inform current and future sales commit forecasts (e.g., rolling trends and business reporting to support with Anaplan submissions) and reporting templates.
- Project Support & Initiative Rollouts:
Support rollout of national initiatives (e.g. D-STAR, PRIME) within the division by organizing informational meetings/trainings as needed, developing timelines and expectations, and reporting milestones and performance. Coordinate with key stakeholders in Commercial Excellence, Marketing, S&OP, Finance, and Chains teams to ensure consistent communication and aligned execution.
- Team and Culture Support:
Act as a culture carrier by supporting a collaborative and high-accountability environment. Assist with team development efforts, including onboarding new team members, organizing knowledge sharing, and collecting feedback to improve ways of working.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
5- 7 years in commercial operations, sales support, or business analysis roles, preferably in consumer goods or beverage industry.
- Capabilities:
Advanced/Expert Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerBI systems. Strong data analysis skills and experience using reporting tools and dashboards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced project management and coordination skills. Familiarity with commercial planning and sales operations processes. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
