Overview

The Administrative Assistant - Transportation is responsible for assisting in all areas of the transportation department. This includes dispatching drivers, monitoring routes, data entry, customer communication, interact with sales and operations team, manage temporary drivers and helpers work assignments while maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Communication

• Must possess strong written and oral communication abilities, responsible for creating documents, interacting with managerial staff, customers and operations team.

Customer Orientation

• Able to generate documentation of existing processes and improvements, forecast expected results of process changes, analyze implemented changes and make further adjustments to workflow, schedules or other processes as required.

Results Orientation

• Knowledge of diverse business processes in a wide range of functions within the organization.

Leadership

• Should be detail-oriented problem-solvers who are able to employ critical thinking and time management skills and can work effectively both with minimal supervision and in teams

Qualifications
    • Excellent Excel skills are a must
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 1-2 years of experience within a distribution environment
    • 1-2 years transportation experience
    • Roadnet experience preferred
    • Functional system understanding Microsoft Office and Excel
    • Ability to work non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights and weekends when required
    • Strong Communication skills - verbal, writing

    • Physical Requirements
    • 9-10 hours, 5 days a week, ability to work across multiple shifts
    • Ability to lift to 50-60 pounds based on the nature of product sold
