Overview

This Director Compliance Capabilities - Standards, Training & Awareness, Systems & Analytics works cross functionally to develop and implement standards setting out the company's expectations, develop and deliver training and awareness programs designed with our employees at the center, and ensure that we are using the best tools to manage program knowledge and track results. This position may be based in Southern Glazer's Corporate Offices in either Dallas, TX or Miami, FL with 3-4 days per week in office. (Remote work arrangements may be considered. Relocation assistance available.) Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Compliance & Ethics, the role will work across company functions, subject matter areas, and compliance program building blocks, and will contribute to the strategic direction of the compliance function.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support implementation of a comprehensive compliance and ethics program
• Collaborate across functions (Legal, Risk Management, Corporate Affairs, Audit, Controllership) to proactively identify emerging risks, assess controls, and develop mitigation approaches
• Identify and leverage internal and external data and emerging trends to develop insights and recommendations
• Participate in risk assessment and development and tracking of risk management plans
• Analyze risks and business processes and design and implement internal controls, processes to test control effectiveness and to regularly monitor key controls
• Develop and deliver training content and design and implement modalities of delivery and awareness to drive compliance
• Develop detailed reporting and insights to senior leadership on key risk metrics
• Develop and implement processes to track and advance key activities and risk mitigation plans from various sources
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to compliance
• Monitor regulations impacting our business, provide updates, and draft policies and procedures to address changes
• Report to management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs
• Develop and implement programs to assess the effectiveness of compliance programs and propose actions to address potential improvements
• Monitor compliance with federal, state and local beverage alcohol regulations and provide strategic advice to business leaders
• Respond to requests from alcoholic beverage agencies in the assigned region for records and regarding potential violations
• Develop and maintain relationships with state and federal alcohol regulators
• Advise business leaders regarding how to comply with new regulations and potential violations
• File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies
• Interface with regulators on compliance questions, reporting, and related matters, and may represent the Company in proceedings before alcohol regulatory agencies
• Review and process retailer contracts, agreements, and documents
• Manage and monitor bankruptcies, negotiate critical vendor agreements, and/or settlements and file bankruptcy claims
• Manage Company federal label approvals for imported products
• Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to the success of the department

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking English fluently
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and outside counsel and gain their respect
• Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple matters at the same time
• Strong cognitive and analytical skills
• Flexible work schedule and ability to travel as needed
• Ability to manage deadlines, organize and prioritize work and work with other functional teams
• Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes (governance, measurement, etc.)
• Strong communication skills - written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
• Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
