Business Intelligence Developer

The purpose of the SQL/Microsoft BI Stack Developer is to support the Business Intelligence and Business Systems Analyst Teams with report and analytics development, application integration and SQL troubleshooting by applying best practices and following defined governance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, maintain and improve data processing and reporting that is built around SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 and MS BI Stack.
  • Design and develop enduring BI solutions that provide analytical insights.
  • Leverage and extend existing Business Intelligence and analytics infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Follow agreed upon governance and technology policies, and update documentation as necessary.
  • Assist with SQL queries to troubleshoot performance or validation issues.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and team.
  • Provide solution support with emphasis on problem resolution.
  • Effectively communicate with users and troubleshoot problems offering appropriate solutions.
  • Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist internal co-workers with testing, validation, acceptance and adoption of implemented solutions.
  • Deliver development tasks while meeting tight deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Report/dashboard design and development utilizing Microsoft BI stack tools (SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, PowerView, PowerPivot)
  • Strong MS SQL coding (T-SQL), stored procedures, SSRS and SSIS
  • Deep understanding of ETL/SSIS processes and design best practices and techniques
  • Strong knowledge in Data Warehouses, Data Marts and industry best practices and methodologies (Kimball, Inmon)
  • .NET and C# programming knowledge (ASP 3.5 or later)
  • Web/JavaScript development experience.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and version control disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with both technical and non-technical parts of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.


Minimum Experience, Education and/or Certifications:
  • BS in CS, Engineering, or related discipline and 3+ progressive years using T-SQL with at least 2+ yrs. experience with Microsoft BI Stack and components.
  • Demonstrated competency with a variety of programming tools and languages, including PowerShell (.NET), Visual Studio (and supported languages), etc.

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell's and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000
