Overview

The Sr Dir Commercial Operations will build and manage support functions and personnel essential to optimizing productivity within the commercial organization. The role includes providing leadership for key strategic business processes including supplier planning, supplier marketing/programming, pricing, commercial finance, S&OP, and forecasting as well as effective analytics, data mining and route-to-market strategy. This position helps drive the business strategy and works closely with the leads in Commercial Sales to provide support in the translation of the strategy into operational action across the Company portfolio.

This position requires a senior level professional who can integrate all aspects of commercialization and coordinate with executive & cross-functional leadership and stakeholders to ensure optimal revenue and profits.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement of the overall Commercial Operations Strategy to enhance overall market performance, supplier performance, analytics capabilities, and gross profit attainment goals
  • Maximize workforce resources within the functional scope to optimize productivity and expansion of all personnel performing jobs related to pricing, marketing, trade development, analytics, and commercial supply chain to increase the profits of the corporation and increase total market share in the business
  • Lead, coach, empower and direct teams to perform for the achievement of results in line with Company strategy and department goals while creating a culture of accountability and shared purpose among team members
  • Responsible for the oversight and development of supplier planning, programming and activations to ensure that brand strategies and standards are achieved. Ensure alignment with the supplier(s) to understand their brands, sales goals/projections, and support in securing additional market share
  • Provide oversight, compliance administration and consistent strategy for Supplier Marketing activities and Commercial Finance functions to ensure fund management and pricing guidance are in place
  • Implement sales effectiveness initiatives and standard KPI's for supplier reporting and scorecards, including quarterly business reviews frameworks; present supplier reports for market analysis, QBRs, RFPs, and other related market strategy planning


Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full-cycle S&OP process and inventory management
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of all functions related to budgeting, forecasting and pricing.
  • Analyze and review on an on-going basis opportunities/threats, strengths/weaknesses affecting the growth of company business
  • Manage the development and implementation of effective business intelligence strategies including route-to-market, data analytics and other data resources to increase the effectiveness of market strategies
  • Interface with other functions across the company, representing the joint commercial team to matrix partners and leadership as needed
  • Represent company to the industry through various roles including trade associations and supplier forums
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus seven years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred
  • Proven team building capabilities, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Proven ability of strong task management to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and deliver timely and accurate achievement of assigned goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to job function including advanced analytical capabilities within Microsoft Excel and/or other analytical tools
  • Effective cross-functional collaborator, with demonstrated competency in a culturally diverse workforce
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of management, suppliers, customers, and employees of the organization
